Starting from zero: get a WhatsApp Business number

No Facebook account, a brand-new SIM, nothing set up yet — the full path to a connected number.

  1. 1

    1. A Facebook account (yes, it's required)

Meta's connect screen signs you in with Facebook or Meta Business credentials — there is no way around it. If you don't have one, create a normal free Facebook account in your own name. You do NOT need a Facebook Page, posts, followers, or ads: the account is only there to log in and own your business assets. Keep the login safe — it's the key to your WhatsApp account.

  2. 2

    2. Pick the phone number carefully

Use a number that is NOT currently active on regular WhatsApp or the WhatsApp Business app. A fresh SIM is perfect. If the number you want is already on WhatsApp, open that app first and delete the account (Settings → Account → Delete my account), then wait a few minutes. The number must be able to receive an SMS or a phone call to confirm a code, so keep the SIM in a phone during setup. Don't use a number you rely on personally — once it becomes a business number, the WhatsApp app on that SIM stops working.

  3. 3

    3. Connect from Moyafa — the rest is created for you

Open Settings → WhatsApp and press "Connect WhatsApp". Meta's own window opens, and inside it you create your Business Portfolio and your WhatsApp Business Account in the same few steps — you do not need to visit business.facebook.com first or set anything up in advance. Only an owner or admin can do this.

  4. 4

    4. Business details and display name

You'll enter your business name, website and a display name. The display name is what customers see above the chat, so it must genuinely represent your business — Meta reviews it and rejects names that don't match. Your legal/commercial name or your store's brand name both work.

  5. 5

    5. Confirm the code

Meta sends a code by SMS or call to the number you chose. Enter it to finish registering the number for business messaging.

  6. 6

    6. Add a payment method to your WhatsApp account

This is the step people miss, and messages will not go out without it. WhatsApp conversations are billed by Meta directly to you — Moyafa adds no markup and never touches that money — so Meta requires a payment method on YOUR WhatsApp Business account before you can send. Add it in your Meta Business settings under WhatsApp Accounts → Payment settings. Your Moyafa subscription is completely separate from this.

  7. 7

    7. Send a test message

Back in Settings → WhatsApp, use the test card to message yourself. If it arrives, you're connected end to end and ready to bring conversations in.

  8. 8

    Later: business verification

Not needed to start. Meta limits how many people a new number can message per day, and verifying your business with Meta (commercial registration or similar) raises that ceiling as you grow. Message us on WhatsApp when you get there and we'll walk you through it.
